Echelon Corporation (NASDAQ:ELON), a global networkingcompany providing technology and solutions for controls, smartmetering, and energy and environment management, today announced thatEchelon's NES System has been selected under the European Union publictender 65798 -- "eTender Automatic Meter Reading" issued by the Dutchutility Nuon. The companies have entered into a letter of intent, withfinal agreements expected later in February. Echelon will act as alead supplier for the project, providing approximately 25,000intelligent, communicating electricity meters and associated dataconcentrator and NES system software infrastructure.
